Antique English Georgian Mahogany Chest of Drawers (Circa 1790). This is a fine quality antique English Georgian solid mahogany chest of drawers, with narrow proportions, circa 1790, in excellent condition.

Hand dovetailed oak lined drawers. Original brass swan neck drop-handles. Original working locks, with working key. Lovely rich colour & patination. This is a fine quality antique English Georgian solid mahogany chest of drawers, with generous proportions, circa 1790, in excellent condition. The chest has been cleaned and traditionally French polished by hand to a professional standard in our workshop. Featuring a flame mahogany cross-banded mahogany top, sits a faux brushing slide, with above a bank of four graduated drawers. The drawers are constructed with hand dovetailed oak drawer linings, oak drawer bottoms and cock beaded detail. The drawers feature later period brass oval plate drop handles, with the original working locks and a working key. The drawers run smoothly and close flush to the frame. The chest stands on the original well shaped original mahogany bracket feet. The back of the chest retains the original pine back boards. This item stands firm on the ground, is solid in joint and ready to use.

The chest features a lovely rich mahogany colour. It has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received. This chest would look superb in a variety of rooms, from the hallway to the bedroom.
