English Georgian Regency Style Flame Mahogany Bow Front Tallboy / Chest on Chest of Drawers (Circa 1960). This is a fine quality English Georgian Regency style flame mahogany tallboy chest, of small proportions, circa 1960, in excellent original condition.

Item: Chest on Chest / Tallboy. Style: George III / Regency. 4 working drawers in Chest. Original brass ring handles & escutcheons. The chest on chest boasts stunning grain configuration and colour to the flame mahogany on the drawer fronts and sides of the chest. The chest on chest comprises a protruding moulded cornice above a five-drawer bow front chest. The drawers feature the original brass ring handles and circular brass escutcheons. Furthermore, the drawers are dovetailed and boast cock-beaded drawer fronts. The top section terminates at the base of the intersection between the two chests, where a further horizontal moulding separates the two chests. The top chest is smaller than the base chest, therefore, the piece is very decorative and features lovely proportions.

The whole piece is also designed with smaller proportions, so it is likely to fit in more rooms. The sides of the chests are also constructed from mahogany. The chest also features its original backboards and whole of the chest stands on its original bracket feet. This is a single piece chest (it does not dismantle).

This is an ideal item for the bedroom or landing for storing clothes. The chest boasts a rich brown mahogany colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received. This item would look superb in a variety of rooms from bedroom to the landing; it is very useful as there are so many drawers for storage. This item would certainly grace any home.
