The drawers incorporate old replacement brass drop ring handles, circular brass back plates and oval key escutcheons. The drawers feature working locks and there is a working key. The drawers are oak lined and are constructed with primitive hand dovetail joints. The chest features solid inset panel sides, along with the original backboards. The chest terminates on an elegant moulded frieze and is raised on the original bracket feet. The frame of the chest has been built using the traditional peg construction method. The chest features a dark rich brown oak colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning they have received.
