Circa 1740 Continental Mahogany & Satinwood Parquetry Miniature Chest Of Drawers

There are multiple high definition super-sized pictures at the bottom of this page. A very rare and collectable decorative little chest of drawers, over 270 years old with a lovely timber patina throughout. These were most likely a sample piece, cabinet makers would produce sample models that were millimetre perfect replicas of full-sized furniture. They would then tour and exhibited the smaller pieces which would be allot more economical and convenient for transport. The drawers are in lovely order, there is an old repair to the cracked top, a small piece of missing timber on the right side, otherwise they are glorious.
