Vintage Antique STAR 7-drawer Oak Wood Machinist Tool Box Chest

20 wide, 9 deep, 13 high - not including hardware latches, handle, etc. Oak chest with Excelsior hardware and cracked round mirror. Brand determined by hardware style & placement.

There is chipping on the lower back, and the bottom of both sides of this box(see pictures), but no cracks, breaks or separations. Finish looks recoated (some small sags around the hardware)and covers the chipped areas, latches and corner brackets. Color/patina is more uniform than my flash shows, except of course, in the chipped areas. The Eagle lock, with two keys is most likely a replacement. There is vinyl tape wrapped around the handle.

Top area is fully lined with felt. All drawers have Lock-rabbet joints, felt-covered pressboard bottoms, and ride on metal guides. Those guides have caused the typical wear found in Star toolboxes (see last photo).
